kim joon !

 This beautiful work is by the Korean artist Kim Joon. When I first saw these I thought he had painted the body art on, but no ! It is all digitally applied.
Theres also a video I really like by him click here to see it, it's worth a watch ! Well I just thought that I would let you in on what I found today. And that's how for now ! :)                                                                      

tatty devine - YES PLEASE

I have just been browsing Tatty Devine's collection of jewellery, I love the bizarre-ness of it  all, they really do bring a fun element to fashion. I would be more than happy to wear any pieces by them. Unfortunately I don't have the dosh to purchase my favourite ones :(. However my 18th birthday is coming up so who knows ?

ahh seeing Noel Fielding dancing to kate Bush on Lets dance for comic relief, reminded me of how much I love him and the mighty Boosh ! I would love to live in such a bizarre world !

Destroyed Perfection

 Take Antony Maule and Sandy Kim (who I have previously featured in my blog) and mix them together and what do you get ? Destroyed perfection. These two have become tired of the perfectly polished images that we are bombarded with every day. So what did they do ? Well I will tell you, they took a load of glossy fashion images and destroyed manipulated and scratched them. My personal favourites are the two black and white ones. Read more here.

I hate tumblr

Reams and reams of photos, no writing from the publisher, wheres the personal insight, what are they about, who did them ? God only knows. 

However here are a few fav images from a tumblr I stumbled across somehow. The first one if my favourite. YUM.

Oh Mann !

No doubt you have seen Sally Mann's work before, if you haven't you are in for a treat! It was so hard to choose which images I wanted to use in this post as I could have happily used any of her images. She mainly use her 3 children in her photography, this has caused a lot of controversy in America due to their nudity and in one magazine one of her photos was shown with the child's eyes, nipples and genitals covered with a black strip. What was the point of featuring it in the first place ? Its not like she has photographed her children in a pornographic or remotely sexual way, you have to be pretty sick to be turned on by these little children. I think these images are absolutely stunning and have such a powerful impact and if anything I  think the nudity of her children just conveys and intensifies their innocence.

what's with all the gloom and doom?

I feel recently all the things I written about have been rather dark or gruesome.

So here's a song that makes me happy and puts a spring in my step :)
