Theres also a video I really like by him click here to see it, it's worth a watch ! Well I just thought that I would let you in on what I found today. And that's how for now ! :)

tatty devine - YES PLEASE

I have just been browsing Tatty Devine's collection of jewellery, I love the bizarre-ness of it  all, they really do bring a fun element to fashion. I would be more than happy to wear any pieces by them. Unfortunately I don't have the dosh to purchase my favourite ones :(. However my 18th birthday is coming up so who knows ?

Destroyed Perfection

Take Antony Maule and Sandy Kim (who I have previously featured in my blog) and mix them together and what do you get ? Destroyed perfection. These two have become tired of the perfectly polished images that we are bombarded with every day. So what did they do ? Well I will tell you, they took a load of glossy fashion images and destroyed manipulated and scratched them. My personal favourites are the two black and white ones. Read more here.

I hate tumblr

Reams and reams of photos, no writing from the publisher, wheres the personal insight, what are they about, who did them ? God only knows.
However here are a few fav images from a tumblr I stumbled across somehow. The first one if my favourite. YUM.

Oh Mann !

No doubt you have seen Sally Mann's work before, if you haven't you are in for a treat! It was so hard to choose which images I wanted to use in this post as I could have happily used any of her images. She mainly use her 3 children in her photography, this has caused a lot of controversy in America due to their nudity and in one magazine one of her photos was shown with the child's eyes, nipples and genitals covered with a black strip. What was the point of featuring it in the first place ? Its not like she has photographed her children in a pornographic or remotely sexual way, you have to be pretty sick to be turned on by these little children. I think these images are absolutely stunning and have such a powerful impact and if anything I  think the nudity of her children just conveys and intensifies their innocence.

what's with all the gloom and doom?

I feel recently all the things I written about have been rather dark or gruesome.

So here's a song that makes me happy and puts a spring in my step :)

Black Swan - YES YES YES

last night the 2011 BAFTAS took place and Natalie Portman won an award for leading actress in her role in Black Swan. If you haven't seen the film yet I strongly urge you to, it's stunning.

Andrew Bruce does roadkill !

Andrew Bruce is a photographer that uses roadkill as his central theme which he see as a 'potent symbol of humanity's clash with nature'. He is so passionate about this topic he is compelled to create an art out of it, to in some way make sure that these animals didn't die in vain. I could write so much more about his work but I will leave it here, if you do want anymore information here is an interview he did for the Telegraph, it's definitely worth a read

Why do women have smaller feet ?

. . .  So they can get closer to the oven.

Whilst doing a bit of research for my art exam I stumbled across these sexist vintage advertisements. I can't believe they were ever published but just imagine the uproar they would create if published today.

However have attitudes towards women really changed and/or have just been distributed to new  'minorities' ?

Here's another babe of a website

Another programme I found was called toy camera analogue colour this one actually lets you be able to edit the photos yourself and it'f free again. Yippeeeee ! . I found you could get some quite good effects.

You can get a lot more effects than what I have done but I needed the darkness for a project I am doing at the moment. I would really recommend downloading this if you like old school style photography. Peace out x

Poladroid me !

I have found this brilliant programme on the internet called poladroid, which I downloaded for free. What it does is change your digital images to make them look like polaroid pictures, and they even develop like polaroid pictures so you can watch them gradually appearing on the film on your computer desktop. Here are some of my image result, aren't they fab !

Is Big Beautiful ?

This isn't your typical nude photo as generally this type of female body isn't seen as beautiful or desirable in our culture. However looking at this image I can't help but see its beauty. To me her body is like a work of art, with her skin being the canvas which has been lovingly inked on.

Just to add one more thing, I wish my skin was as perfect as this.
